The Fresh Connection: a virtual learning environment

Due to the great success of last year’s edition (with more than 250 supply chain professionals participating), together with the Vlerick Management School and Business Logistics, on February 7th 2011 we will launch a 2^nd edition. Last year companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Miele, Unilin, Barco, Bekaert, Volvo, etc. joined with one or more teams and each of them scored the training as unique in its kind and the best training and team building exercise since a long time.

Again this new edition promises to be a very exciting one, with a couple of new elements that have been added in order to optimize and increase the added value even more :

1. Coaching : An extra (optional) role has been created: “The Coach”: He/she, is typically the manager/director of the participants; observes and guides the team process; encourages self-reflection and improves the learning experience of the team. His/her role is not to take decisions within the business game, but more a coach and sounding board; making sure that the learning experience can be put into practice. The involvement of management helps consolidate the learning! The Coach is offered a free coaching training given by professor Dirk Buyens (Vlerick).

2. Weekly webinars in order to optimise the learningcurve. Every week a specific topic is addressed: 15’ explanation about the topic (e.g. S&OP) by an expert, combined with 15’ interactive Q&A between participants and the TFC support team.

3. New functionalities : forecasting and demand mgt. has been extended with VP Sales having to provide a sales forecast with a major impact on the other aspects of the supply chain.

4. The training runs over 6 weeks instead of 7 in order to optimize your time investment.

5. The TFC finals are organized for the best 25 teams which will all take part in the last 3 final rounds (1/2 day on 30/03/’11 in A’pen).

6. The best SC team is offered a 2-day trip to Italy for the International TFC competition/ training in Pisa with the best teams from Holland, Denmark, UK, Australia, …
